This is the first Adam Freeland solo release since the Hate EP and his first release since his band's 'COPE™' album last year. Freeland gave the parts of the track to Étienne de Crécy before he had finished mixing the original, and Étienne beat him to it! Taking this absolutely huge riff from the original and adding his own squiggly analogue synths and an arrangement that has been tried and tested in Freeland and Etienne's recents sets, we can confirm this mix tears big rooms apart. After his recent remix for Joker, as well as being featured on Fabric's 'Elevator Music' compilation, and a forthcoming EP on Plastician's Terrorhythm label as well as various remixes due in 2010 including Foreign Beggars, Pure Phase, Kidkanevil, and Take (Alpha Pup/Eat Concrete), rising producer Om Unit turns in a great mix. Adam was nominated in the best 'Indie Dance Artist' category in the Beatport Music Awards, and has a packed touring schedule for taking in many festivals this summer.

Modern Eyes is the latest single from Australia-via-L.A electro-rock act Jump Jump Dance Dance, taken from their self-titled debut album due August 2010. The video was directed by Clemens Habicht (behind Friendly Fires' brilliant Skeleton Boy), and is based on a psychological phenomenon called “pareidolia”, where humans imagine faces in objects, both a survival mechanism and a symptom of a psychotic disorder. With Grum and Human Life lending their remix touches to their last single, Modern Eyes will feature equally hot remixes from Lifelike, Beni, Bit Funk, Neon Stereo and Vindata.
Jump Jump Dance Dance are already one of the hottest emerging acts in the world right now. Their debut single Show Me the Night was a Hype Machine Top 10, Bigstereo #1 track (twice!) that was crowned UK’s prestigious Record of the Day. And the band recently played L.A.'s iconic Whisky A Go Go. Not bad for a brand new local signing. But then again, few brand new local signings have a pedigree as impressive as that of these Australian-American electro-rock conspirators. Chris Carter and Simon Lewicki had already amassed a wealth of experience – Carter as an in-demand DJ and vocalist and Simon as the mastermind behind the celebrated US Billboard #1 Club act Chili Hi Fly plus multi-ARIA nominated Groove Terminator and Tonite Only – before uniting to create Jump Jump Dance Dance.
But Jump Jump Dance Dance isn’t about rehashing former glories, as glorious as they may be. Instead, it’s an all-new beast with its own unique energy and style. First coming together over a shared love of synthesizers, Australian culture and sweaty dance floors, the renowned studio wizards began to furiously write the blueprint of the Jump Jump Dance Dance sound, exploring and tweaking the happy medium between dance and rock music. Clearly, the pair were onto something special as their first batch of demos immediately hooked Australian imprint etcetc - the home of PNAU (producers of Empire Of The Sun) and Lost Valentinos (helmed by super-producer Ewan Pearson) as well as internationals Mylo, Datarock and The Knife.
Determined to once-and-for-all perfect the ultimate hybrid between these two often-disparate genres, the duo elevated themselves above the electro scene by turning Jump Jump Dance Dance into a fully-fledged, truly organic live band where instantaneous guitar riffs collide with towering synths and club energy. The duo’s fascination with melding genres carried over to the recording process for their debut LP, which saw them recruit heavyweight US producer/mixers Dave Sardy (the man responsible for records from Wolfmother, Oasis, Soulwax and The Ting Tings) and Mark Needham (The Killers, Bloc Party, 3OH!3), as well as Australian dance industry veteran Sameer Sengupta (a.k.a. Poxy Music a.k.a. Pocket 808, provider of legendary mixes for Alter Ego and Green Velvet) to lend his formidable experience to some final mixes.
With their debut album under lock and key for the moment, Jump Jump Dance Dance are preparing to spread the electro-rock gospel to new fans with killer live shows and a slew of turbo-charged remixes on the way. Although it’s still very early days for the band, Jump Jump Dance Dance aren’t wasting any time in showing us all exactly why they’ve come so far so quickly. Expect to get converted any minute now. As Bigstereo put it after the band hit #1 on their monthly chart, “We love JJDD, You love JJDD”.
Up there stay tuned with their latest parties and meanwhile Enjoy the new bangin remix of Pretty Girls & Lasers on Yeah Yeah Yeahs "Dull Life" in their words. "
It won’t be on “Jersey Shore.” It doesn’t feature a Vuvuzela. And it doesn’t have an opinion about the conflict in Sri Lanka.

"I can try" is next single from Sambassadeur's recent, third album "European" and will be released on July 7. It's sunny melancholia at it's finest with breezy vocals, mellow horns and strings floating glittery drum beats. Exquisite pop to accompany wake summer mornings if you ask me! Hopefully you'll like it too.
Sambassadeur started as a DIY version of ABBA in the year 2003. They were one of the bands that lead an explosive Swedish pop movement of home recording artists who surprised our country by not only achieving overnight indie fame (thanks to the MP3 spreading kids!) but also reached the sales charts. Since that their sound has continued to grow with their recording budget. On ”European” they’ve finally accomplished to make the grand, classic and orchestrated album they’ve always wanted to. Coming up soon: A video of Sambassadeur's "I can try" by Philip Ekström of The Mary Onettes.

To celebrate the start of a new Stockholm based club concept Despotz Records together with Suck Shaft offer you all a brand new and amazing free track from Suck Shaft. If i may add this one is fuckin lovely. beautiful track!
The eagerly anticipated third album from indie dance boys Cut Copy is due for release in January 2011 and, according to frontman Dan Whitford, the sound of the record was influenced by an interesting/awesome mix of Talking Heads, Fleetwood Mac's Tusk - "a lot of the Lindsey Buckingham tracks have a proto-80s African feel", Grace Jones, Malcolm McLaren's Duck Rock album, "and a lot of acid house era, post-rave indie music like Happy Mondays and Primal Scream."
Uh. Heaven called, it wants its tunes back.
Cutters have released a 'Making Of' mini film featuring excerpts from the album. The tantalising clip (which gives very little away) was made by KROZM (AKA Chris Hill and Lachlan Dickie), the film directing duo behind Cut Copy's "Lights and Music" and "Out There on the Ice" music videos.
Dan spilled the album news in an interview with Pitchfork, where he also spoke about recording in an industry warehouse in Melbourne, David Bowie-inspired vocals, and being asked to open for Lady Gaga. Read the full interview here.
The self-produced as-yet-untitled album is currently being mixed by Ben Allen (dude behind Animal Collective's "Merriweather Post Pavilion") and it's coming in January. Exciting times.
Artist: Maelstrom Title: Different Train e.p. A: Different Train 6’16’’ B1: Embush 5’45’’ B2: Outta Congo 6’29’’ + Digital Bonus Track Root Knife 5’46’’ Label : Expressillon Format: 12’’ vinyl & digital Release Date: out now
France’s finest and funkiest Maesltrom is back on Expressillon with a new full of unyielding energy three trackers. Once more he shows just why he has a golden reputation when it comes to his production talent!
“Different Train”, a techno electro tune Maelstrom began in a train back from a German gig, with recordings of the train itself directly from his macbooks mic. The name is a reference, and an homage to one of his personal favourite composers, Steve Reich. Then we got “Outta Congo”, a bassline wobbly house tune with a dubstep breakdown and kind of tropical beats, along the lines of last year's "jungle jacker". The third one on the vinyl is "Embush", a crazy dubstep meets techno psychedelic trippy tune. No chemicals needed, this tune is crazy enough to turn your mind upside down on its own.
As for desert, enjoy digital bonus track “Root Knife”....
After years of pounding at the backstage door, it's pretty much official: dance music is the new punk rock. CBGBs is no more, and guitars are swiftly being eclipsed by laptops, but the DIY aesthetic is alive and well. So it's only fitting that the future of American dance music should emerge in the form of two New England Art Institute grads, Josh Shifrin and Paul Mihailoff, who left behind their punk rock and hip-hop pasts to form Plus Move, an electronic act obsessed with the future. And for good reason - they've been there.
"It's kind of weird how we got into this," Mihailoff admits, recalling a time back in Boston before they learned the art of time travel. Both he and Shifrin were playing in rock bands, with their only common thread was a shared interest in Radiohead. "I was actually into producing hip-hop beats when we first met, and I threw Daft Punk in the same category as the bland, repetitive, four-on-the-floor stuff that I couldn't get into. But once I understood the energy behind it, I started listening to all the other French producers."
Plus Move got everyone's attention when they leaked their bootleg remix of Justice's funk-squelch anthem "D.A.N.C.E" to some of their favorite music blogs back in the summer of 2007. "We first heard the song as a radio rip," Shifrin recalls. "It wasn't even the full song or the final version, but we fell in love with it and immediately chopped the shit out of the track to get rid of the radio noise, re-worked it completely and sent it back out to every blog that we liked. Before we knew it, we were getting emails from people all over the world."
After releasing the 2099 EP in 2008, Plus Move are back and on FIRE. In addition to the release of “Worthy,” plans include the release of "Just Me" EP and a maxi single to set up the new full-length album due for a fall release. Check this shit out and wear it down!

After releasing their third album 'Still Night, Still Light'last summer to much critical acclaim, Brooklyn trio Au Revoir Simone will be releasing a remix album entitled 'Night Light' on July 5th through Moshi Moshi Records.
Ok this is great one of my favourite remixers lately, sex Invaders from Berlin, remixin one of the best artists in the scene the mighty boys noise with their "Kontact me". Love at first listen and still lovin on the 24th time.
U might wanna check their space for more incredible mixes and tracks.
They're upcoming and they're coming pretty damn fast. This summer they release their first EP (called Jeunes Hommes) on MSMD recs, but don't call Hector & Nate nobodies, cause they've been making quite a name for themselves! In the past they shared the decks with Mustard Pimp, Mixhell, Les Petits Pilous, Strip Steve, The Subs and many more godfathers of the electro genre. They may well be from Kortrijk (Belgium), this duo is rather exeptional in the hard scene Kortrijk is known for. Don't expect to see violent mosh-pits while they're playing their set. Expect a crowd that's dancing like its life depends on it. With their unique mix of house, tech house and techno, they promise to make each and every pair of legs move like they never moved before! Like Teki Latex once said, dance music is music you're supposed to dance to, that's these guys' philosophy. Standing still is not even an option, shake those damn hips till you drop.
MSMD - Coming out the first of July!
The EP contains 3 original tracks & on remix duty we have Le Petit Belge & Vhyce.
It has support from Yolanda Be Cool, Riot Kid, Voltron, Ed & Kim and many more...

You have to take your hats off to Adidas: They've managed to recreate the sacred Creature Cantina scene from Star Wars in a primo new commercial made especially for their FIFA World Cup campaign.
With a little bit of help from LucasFilms, high tech film composite software, and cameos from Daft Punk, Ian Brown, Noel Gallagher, Snoop Dogg, David Beckham, actor Jay Baruchel and, of course, many of our favourite pals from a galaxy far, far away this ad is clever, chuckle worthy and chock full of win.
