Act Yo Age feat. Drop the Lime - Night of the Hornheadz‏

From the depths of the nocturnal jungle, where lions are not the biggest cats and silence not the greatest calm, comes Night of the Hornheadz, where basslines, horns and appegiated? synthlines sound the wild of the night!

Sydney bass bastions of bounce Act Yo Age pack with Trouble and Bass ‘ Brooklyn native Drop the Lime, on this jungle jam..letting fly that the dawn of the horn is truly upon us.

Opening proceedings is the bouncy original which glides along nice n smooth, like the pre-attack crocodile before pouncing down into the dark n dirty and then jacking back up again, after the kill.

On da mixes, Bird Peterson takes it up a notch with some very BIG bass juxtaposed with some dope breaks and moroder-esque-ness, dubsided’s Sticky K heads straight for the throne with some unrelenting beats and rhythms, sweat’s own DCUP drops his trademark disco flavours on the mix to full effect, Acid Kids get all techno while Spruce Lee takes the indie-nu-disco approach with great success.

NEW EXCUSE ME MIXTAPE!

Excuse Me is the cheeky name of one of the more talented and brave clubnights in Italy, and now it is giving name to the DJ team as well.

Miles after miles, bpm’s after bpm’s, since that debut night in early 2006 all run with authentic enthusiasm, eclecticism and savoir faire, the same ingredients made Excuse Me one of the most tattled (and requested) DJ team in Europe, already considered in Italy a sort of a reference when it’s time to scout for remixes, white labels and disco/rock clashes.

Excuse Me got indeed a an appealing and very own vibe, built up on a territory where electro bangs with indie-rock. In the most recent sets, the DJ’s got more unpredictable, still loving the pounding beats they tend to match them with re-edited classic anthems which results in an exciting show, you shouldn’t be surprised then to hear an 80’s underground dance hit or an English punk anthem... or more likely, some obsure re-edit of such.

Excuse Me has been involved in many collaborations with fashion players as well, such as WeSC (who sponsored some Italian dates in 2007), Swear shoes (sponsor since early days), YourEyesLie (partner for Italian and international dates), Replay (Excuse Me recorded an exclusive DJ mix who got 18000 downloads in three months), ...

Trivia: Excuse Me are proud to remark they have booked friends The Bloody Beetroots in Venice, for what was their first live gig (Spring 2007)

Bang Gang 12 Inches Compilation

Australia's finest dimensioneering-dance label,
BangGang 12inches has teamed up with Modular to release their
very own label compilation this October. Aptly named,
"The BangGang 12inches Compilation", the release swims across
two shiny discs, one mixed and one unmixed, featuring
Bang Gang 12's finest releases from the last four years with
additional unreleased and exclusive material. The
track-listing proves that beyond the parties that Bang Gang
are infamous for, their true talent lies in uncovering some
of the most innovative dance music talent that Australia has
to offer.

In 2005, Doom & Hoodrat from The Bang Gang Deejays created
BangGang 12inches, in an effort to shine a light on a
boutique selection of Australian artists' present at the
forefront of the dance music scene, breaking new ground and
sending crowds into frenzies night after night.
KIM (The Presets), Muscles and Nicky Van She are amongst the
many artists who have launched their careers after releasing
on Bang Gang 12's. After four years of operation, 20 releases
and uncovering a plethora of talent, Bang Gang 12's has
established itself internationally as the frontrunner for
releasing the finest in Australian dance music.

Today, Bang Gang 12's roster consists of the most progressive
dance music artists from across Australia and around the
globe, with; KIM, The Deathset, Soft Tigers, Lost Valentinos,
Bag Raiders, ZZZ, Shazam, Hey Today!, GLOVES, Golden Bug,
Cassian, The Lowbrows and Like Woah! consistently delivering
the goods, simultaneously setting speakers and hearts on fire
with their own brand of feel-good dance music.

In support of Bang Gang 12's compilation, they are sharing with us
two unreleased / exclusive tracks only featured in the comp.

OG (Owain Griffiths) is a Manchester based producer and DJ with a long running show on NuSkoolBreaks Radio and previous remixes of Emmet, Roots Manuva and even Biggie Smalls under his belt. His new EP "Bubbling" is chock full of grimy bass, tight rhythms and a spacey vibe, out right now on Midnight Minus Two.

Owain is a new kid to releasing tunes, but it doesn’t really show. Merging beats, rhythms and melodies from dance music that were around a long time before he was, with

influences of broken beat, glitch, ragga and the huge heaviness of old school dub sound systems this EP should seriously mash some heads!

you can stream all the new ep on his space http://www.myspace.com/og42
and also I recommend strongly one of the tracks from his previous EP, which is fucking great. and i do mean it.
