Bang Gang Love!! Dangerous Dan +++ Hystereo 12 inches!

DANGEROUS DAN "The Ritz" Unleashed 12.02.10 BangGang12s started off with it's first release from Dangerous in 2006 (remember that cover of Around The World) and it only took 29 records for him to do another. either he is geniously lazy or geniously sporadic or geniously lucky, whatever it is here is BG30 from Dan, look forward to BG60 from Dangerous.

And now a few words from the man himself about this record...

Just in time for summer, here is your now mastered version of DANGEROUS DAN'S new Jam “THE RITZ”. It's called “THE RITZ” cause it actually uses bits of an old song called “THE RITZ”, or putting it on “THE RITZ”, or put it on “THE RITZ”, whatever - TACO did a cover of it in the 80's. Cool.

Well this is the 2000's, not the CDJ 2000's but the year 2000's. Whatever (again). This song is a mega dance jam, kinda cheesy but still kinda cool, its got some noise but got some groove and in the middle its got a gimmick of a breakdown that kids go nuts too. It is a banger. Mega, festival, mainroom, high in your car type banger.

TIGA said its not his style but he gets it and don't change a thing. AEROPLANE love it and promise to play it every set. My brother BENI who I hold in the highest of respect says its DOPE and he is gonna do a remix when he has time. The rest of my friends who have heard it have written a reaction below...

RITON has been caning it and had the courtesy to give you an example of what its sounds like “live” playing it at a festival in Amsterdam, you get to see what its sounds like when 12,000 Dutch try to groan in key. Weird.

Download it, listen to it, love it/hate it, cue it, mix it, drop it, dance to it, enjoy it, play it again.

PUT IT ON THE RITZ.

HYSTEREO "Cityspeak" Unleashed 17.02.10

CITYSPEAK and HYSTERICA — in typical HYSTEREO style — are straight-up noisy dancefloor bangers with synths and big as fuck drums. ARVEENE & MISK strip it back and take things a few leagues deeper with their its-all-about-the-bassline techy tech mix and HYSTEREO along with fellow citymen, DEADBOTS, pretty things up in their melodic retake.

PILOTPRIEST "BODY DOUBLE" (MISTAKEN DAFT PUNK SONG) OUT NOW!‏

Pilotpriest's "Body Double", the song that was mistaken for Daft Punk, is now available for purchase! When you purchase, you will get two tracks for the price of one- "Joue" AND "Body Double"!

BODY DOUBLE

ITUNES PURCHASE LINK:

Toronto’s Pilotpriest has made a name for himself with uniquely addictive tracks that have been compared to everyone from Giorgio Moroder to Sebastien Tellier but his newest track “Body Double” had the public taking it one step further. “Body Double” wasn’t just compared to Daft Punk, it was mistaken for Daft Punk.

Originally made for a friend’s art show, Pilotpriest put the track online for download to share with a few friends only to have someone take the song and instead create a YouTube video, claiming it to be Daft Punk production “The Crash” for the upcoming Tron soundtrack. Sparking an avalanche of debate, TheDaftClub.com boards then posted additional speculation, causing blog after blog to post about the song, including Kanye West.

After a few days, the YouTube video garnered close to 30,000 hits and the truth began to be uncovered. “The Crash”, of course, was not a Daft Punk production at all, but “Body Double” by Pilotpriest. By then, the rumor was so widespread that several online publications and blogs raced to write about the mixup, leading to a Song of the Day selection on About.com, and features on TheDailySwarm.com, TimeOut.com, Urb.com and even WashingtonPost.com. Responding to the immediate demand the song created, Calamity Jane rushed to make the song available to the newly created legions of Pilotpriest fans.

One listen to “Body Double” makes it abundantly clear why fans across blogs and message boards were attracted to it, calling the song “amazing”, “genius” and “epic.” A twelve-minute audio journey, “Body Double” begins with a near four-minute ambient intro that beautifully builds, one layer at a time with touches of echoed vocals and waves of alternating pads. Once the beat kicks in, it’s a grooving, deliberate pace that gives a taste before dropping out again two minutes later.

The brilliance of “Body Double” lies not in what is already there, but what isn’t. The most interesting parts are arguably those without a kick drum and snare, portions where Pilotpriest brings forth the most out of minimal content and makes it sound fuller and more alive than its more traditional counterparts. In “Body Double”, Pilotpriest proves his position as one of dance music’s next rising stars.

PINK A PAD'S LIFE STORY:

Pink a Pad's is a bad ass duo made up of Milan natives Seife and Seth. Breakbeat & Drum n Bass gave birth to their careers in '08 before it quickly took a turn to adulthood in Hip house, Fidget and Electro. Filling in their resume of nastiness includes "dirty drop", "VM" and "Ground Level". Fast forward to their current job we arrive at an Italian fire storm next to only their Italian forefathers in Electro. They have created a chain of madness turning people crazy. The piece de resistance being out on CRUX " Pink Is Back" as a homage to the mighty Bloody Beetroots. Naturally, the next page of the PP history is written with an album that is yet to come!

GOD BLESS IHEARTCOMIX!

PHOTO OF THE WEEK

DEMONBABIES & TREVOR BANTA PARTYING @ BOOGIE MONSTER!

YOOOO!

Welcome back to another edition of the IHEARTCOMIX NEWSLETTER! Much apologies for the multiple week delay between news bulletins. I've been buried deep in the depths of the IHEARTCOMIX office working out the grand schemes for our 2010 IHEARTCOMIX 5 YEAR ANNIVERSARY celebrations! I've been putting the final touches on our plans for SXSW and WMC! And have been hard at work on my debut EP!

Since I've been spending much time in the lab, I've become a bit of a hermit. It's a common occurrence around this time of year as the Dec-Mar period is the only big gap of time I get all year to get some shit done. This is the first time in several years where I was able to walk into a new year with an intentional clear plate. It's opened up so many possibilities and has me much more excited and driven than ever before. There's so much I can't wait to tell you all about, but it's just going to have to wait a little bit longer…

In the meantime, i do have some big announcements to make!

First, in celebration of our 5 YEAR ANNIVERSARY, we've make up a new IHC logo! This will be on everything we are doing in association with our anniversary. Check it out. It make lead to some clues later in the year….

Second, here's the unveiling of PART 1 of our SXSW parties! Here's the line-up for our OFFICIAL SXSW SHOWCASE, which we are doing with GREEN OWL RECORDS this year! Check it out:

In a week or 2 I'll be letting the rest of our AUSTIN parties out the gates. I guarantee it's like nothing you've ever seen before….

Check below for info on a couple other rad parties in the LA area like the MISHKA GRAND OPENING PARTY or REVENGE OF THE BOOGIES MONSTER! There's a couple new mixtures, tracks and news for y'all too!

Ok, I gotta get back to plotting the master plan!

xoxo
You're friendly neighborhood,
FRANKI CHAN

on the news...

We assumed they would be dodging groupies or riding horses or making psychedelic finger paintings in their downtime but apparently MGMT have already recorded and mastered their sophomore album "Congratulations". If you're interested Spin Magazine has the scoop on their Oracular Spectacular followup which is set for release April 13. Yeah Kids! Time to pretend you're into tie-dye again because they've also enlisted Spaceman 3's Peter Kember to Produce and describe one cut as like "surfing on ecstasy". High fives for Beach Raves, they're awesome. Hopefully Congratulations will be too.

Congratulations Tracklist:
"It's Working"
"Song for Dan Treacy"
"Someone's Missing"
"Flash Delirium"
"I Found a Whistle"
"Siberian Breaks"
"Brian Eno"
"Lady Dada's Nightmare"
"Congratulations"

Last year LA duo Classixx ignited dancefloors with their throbbing brand of down-tempo disco - a silken amalgam of pillowy synths, elastic basslines and bob-and-jerk rhythms. In 2009 they also managed to made Phoenix sound poppier. Do you know how hard that is? That's like making a shitter version of Nickelback- nigh impossible. Ahead of their forthcoming Australian tour Pedestrian caught up with Mike and Tyler to discuss their prolific remix work, their debut album, a theoretical pairing with Holy Ghost! and scary Texan bus rides.

"""From the only good Sweat shop in the world comes our latest line in brassiere design! Six new versatile and very stylish boulder holders, perfect for the car, the street and the dance floor.
Here are six different styles of our new knocker locker range, we present D cup 's Style, De Remixes.

The Original Style has a distinctive retro flavour with 8os funk and disco elements interwoven in the fabric to enhance its already distinctive melodic appeal. We see this flavour continued in the High Beams remix but with more elasticity in the garment, and hence more bass wobble. Its more tech too for those who like a little more bounce in their booty!

In the Rainbows of Death remix we see so much colour you may go blind, its summery elements and uptempo jiggling funk make its so infectious you will be bopping well after you have taken it off! To round off the range we have the Hemmingway remix which is an ode to Dcup's original with slight variations in the width and construction which enhances it to a more festival vibe!

This range is not a sports range, your bits will bounce we can guarantee you of that!""

CASSETTE KIDS - Lying Around CHK!!

Cassette Kids have been busy. Since the frenetic and
aggressively
energetic debut We Are was released in
2008, the band have spent a year
riding their
self-created turbulence. This is a band who has endured

countless hours working on their craft in an insatiable
drive to create
different and exciting music, and have
earned their stripes on tour with
some of the biggest
acts in the business. Now ready to take on the
world,
the Kids step up to deliver their coming-of-age full length
album
Nothing On TV.

With typically indie rock influences that include
The Rapture, Klaxons,
Yeah Yeah Yeahs and
No Doubt, Cassette Kids craft a grinding, colourful

version of the genre which is as catchy as it is
innovative. The
quartet, which features singer
Katrina Noorbergen, guitarist Dan
Schober,
bassist Dan Deitz and drummer
Jake Read-Harber, came together
from four
distinct corners of the indie scene.

“We're all from completely different musical
backgrounds," Noorbergen
explains.
"It's amazing how much we love the music we're
making because
it's such a strange fusion of
what we're all into, but for some reason
it
just works!"

After forming three years ago in a flourishing Sydney
live scene, the
band have enjoyed a rapid rise
in popularity earned by their ability to
make the
tamest dance floors gleam with sweat. The tracks
from their
mini-album We Are, including the
crowd favourite You Take It, demanded
just as much
attention on record as Noorbergen demanded on stage.

Word spread fast, and soon Lily Allen requested they
join her 2009 Australian tour. This topped off an
already impressive twenty-four months of touring
for the band which saw them play alongside The Music,
The Ting Tings, Crystal Castles, and a sold-out tour
with multi ARIA award winners The Presets, not to
mention Big Day Out 2008.

Following the creative storm of We Are, the band
set to work determined to create the very best
album they could produce, refining their talent
during a six month process of experimentation
with songwriting and instrumentation. They
later joined forces with Michael DiFrancesco,
producer and member of Sydney outfit
Van She, and engineer Richard Wilkinson
(Hot Chip, The Magic Numbers) who continued
to push the band's innovation whilst in the studio.

Noorbergen describes the process, "We're
always trying to play around and experiment
with sounds. Sometimes instead of starting with the
concept of writing a song we just start off with
sounds and what sounds do we like and does that
sound like anything we've heard before? Instead
of building around riffs we're about how something
sounds first and foremost and then we build around
that. That’s the reason we got Mikey and Rich
involved with the album, because we knew
they'd try to push those boundaries and bring along
a whole array of synths, drum machines and other
toys we could play around with to come up with some
really interesting music."

Along with their passion for sonic experimentation, the
album is
inspired by some strong themes centred around
taking action, and the
motivation to get up and take
charge of life, themes which ignite
Noorbergen.

"The reason why we're in a band and we're being
creative is because we
want to be proactive, do
what we want, to be part of and to create pop

culture rather than just passively consuming it,
” she says. "It's so
much more satisfying running
amuck and being part of it. For us that's

what encapsulates the title of Nothing On
TV on so many levels."

The resulting record is a big step forward for
the band. Noorbergen's
delivery is musically more
assured and confident, her use of melody now

more dynamic with the greater use of tone in her
voice, particularly in
tracks such as Game Player
and Lying Around. Schober and Deitz's
screaming,
squelching guitar and bass continues to stretch sonic

boundaries with their complicated network of effects
pedals. Freakie
Sweetie and Hey Baby showcase
Schober's guitar stepping up a notch with
his unique
and catchy lead hooks while Read-Harber sets the
temperature
gauge on the skins. The album displays
a decidedly more pop-styled
direction while
maintaining that unique Cassette Kids grit.

As their profile gains heat and their musicianship
matures, Cassette
Kids have an exciting future
ahead of them. And with a lot of positive
chatter
buzzing through the international industry, this
is an album
which a lot of eyes are watching closely.

Nothing On TV heralds the arrival of one of
Australia's most

entertaining young bands. They could not be
more ready for the challenge.

Gung-Ho! introduces Enzo Canale

Enzo Canale is another international gem discovered by Gung Ho! and is producing tunes to fit the UK & international dance scene alike. He started his music career in Rome going down a altogether different path. Enzo was heavily into Britpop in the 90’s playing music in a band who idolised Oasis, Blur and Supergrass. But it all changed in when he caught onto the Daft Punk phenomenon that was sweeping through Europe in the 90’s. Since then Mr Canale hasn’t looked back and has been producing electronica and DJing in his home country of Italy! Following a busy New Years schedule Gung Ho! is proud to introduce Enzo Canale to the UK with this awesome EP. Alameda is a throbbing house track that could easily be used to both lift up a crowd in the early set or keep the feet stomping well into the morning! Concorde is a straight up banger! It clearly shows Enzo love for a party with a break down and drop that will tear up any dancefloor!
