Bag Raiders 'Shooting Stars' Video plus Shazam remix!

Following months of courting, waking up in the middle of the night in cold sweats, and idle chit chat, Modular is very proud to announce that Sydney duo Bag Raiders are now a part of the Modular premiere league. Bag Raiders new single, Shooting Stars is the first release in Modular's new collaboration with The Bang Gang Deejays in-house label, Bang Gang 12 Inches, and will be out August 14.

Shooting Stars is the kind of blissful dance floor epiphany usually associated with the French, an ecstatic track that teases and builds to the kind of hands in the air love-in that's been the certified secret weapon of discerning DJ's for some months, and it's now time for the rest of us to join the throng. The single comes correct with remixes by Kris Menace, Siriusmo, In Flagranti and Shazam, and a video directed by New York upstart Ron Winter.

Natural Born Zombie Killer

Now this is fun, Zombies, Rock n Roll, Pills, humour, slow motion takes and woody Harrelson Kicking zombie ass with a cowboy hat. Chk out the soon to be released "Zombieland". I cant wait.

Columbia Pictures' horror comedy Zombieland focuses on two men who have found a way to survive a world overrun by zombies. Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg) is a big wuss - but when you're afraid of being eaten by zombies, fear can keep you alive. Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson) is an AK-totin', zombie-slayin' badass whose single determination is to get the last Twinkie on earth. As they join forces with Wichita (Emma Stone) and Little Rock (Abigail Breslin), who have also found unique ways to survive the zombie mayhem, they will have to determine which is worse: relying on each other or succumbing to the zombies.

Did Black Eyed Peas Steal Adam Freeland’s Track?

Fresh from their recent fisticuffs with blogger Perez Hilton, a new controversy is brewing for pop group Black Eyed Peas. DJ/producer Adam Freeland, whose Freeland project recently released COPE™ — which features cameos by Tommy Lee, Twiggy Ramirez of Marilyn Manson, Pixies guitarist Joey Santiago, and Devo’s Gerald V. Casale — claims that his track “Mancry” is used prominently in the Peas’ dance anthem “Party All the Time.”

While he hasn’t filed a lawsuit (yet), Freeland has tweeted about the matter:

“OK. Check this. Listen to our song ‘Mancry.’ Now listen to Black Eyed Peas ‘Party all the time.’ WTF!”

My veredict: Hell yeah!

Kids at the Bar goodies!

"Here are some remixes we are releasing for our really good friends !Trash Yourself & Toxic Avenger and a very talented group Empire of the Sun.

Walking On A Dream was a remix we only intended using for our dj sets, but we have been getting a good response from people, so we thought we might try and share it with everyone. We knew there were tons of remixes of this song already out there, we just wanted to make something a little heavier and that would mix well with the rest of our set.

So here is our remix of Die, Walking On A Dream and also a 320! version of our Data - Rapture Remix, which has not been released yet. "

CASSIUS : YOUTH, SPEED, TROUBLE, CIGARETTES. "GUMMO MASHUP"

Shadows of our Junk

While some artists like to think they turn pieces of shit into aesthetic wonders British artists Tim Noble and Sue Webster can make such claims without the slightest hint of hyperbole.

Sure any art world dilettante can arrange the contents of their wheelie bin into a sculpture and call it contemporary art but few can evoke the emotion and beautiful juxtaposition of Noble and Webster's work. Their meticulously assembled mounds of trash, when illuminated from behind, cast shadows on the walls beyond depicting self-portraits and severed heads in silhouette. We never thought we'd say this but trash has never looked so beautiful.

Triple J Reveals All Time Hottest 100 tracks

Quantifying something as subjective as music always reeks of self-indulgence, thankfully Triple J's Hottest 100 of All Time unlike lists such as "The 20 greatest jazz pianists under 20, with 20 inches of hair" compiled by (insert fluffy English music journal here) feels less like masturbation and more like a welcome trip down memory lane.

The list celebrated twenty years of existence for the youth radio Grand Daddy and received more than half a million votes from listeners. The end result which probably also serves as a demographic breakdown of Triple J's audience, smelled unsurprisingly like latent Gen X nostalgia...

Songs from the 90's accounted for 43 of the Hottest 100 while Radiohead and Jeff Buckley earned the most entries with four apiece. Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit however took the top prize in a loud then quiet then loud then quiet blaze of flannel glory. The list of course sparks fervent water cooler debate with questions such as "where is Alien Ant Farm's "Smooth Criminal?" and is Hilltop Hood's The Nosebleed Section the best Australian song of all time? With lines like "Throw your hands in the air like you’re hailing a taxi" we're gonna lean towards "no".

What do you think of the list? Any unforgivable exclusions? Any unbelievable inclusions? (cough Sex is on cough cough Fire). Let us know below...

1 Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit
2 Rage Against the Machine - Killing In The Name
3 Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah

Ghostly International Presents... Deastro

Chicago-based photographer/videographer James P. Morse--a longtime friend and collaborator of Ghostly's--followed Chabot around Detroit for a day and edited the footage into "Ghostly Presents: Deastro," a video profile whose warm, colorful aesthetic matches Chabot's energy and positivity to a T. Chabot putters around his Detroit home, visits his favorite bookstore, gushes about Isaac Asimov and Simone de Beauvoir, and plays a sweaty, packed show with his band. It's a loving portrait of an artist who stays true to his beliefs, staying passionate, engaged, and creative in all of his endeavors.

Deastro's full-band debut, Moondagger, arrives on June 23rd, and his "Vermillion Plaza" single -- along with its B-side, a squelchy, lumbering remix by Ghostly Swim featured artist Mux Mool -- drops May 12th on Ghostly International.
