Francisco Castorina a.k.a. CISCO suffers -since he was a little kid- from a sever addiction to music. This addiction, trough the years, drove him to the research for styles and sounds oriented to the dancefloor. This addiction led him, since many years now, to be a restless DJ and a furious party promoter.

In the year 2007 - under the nickname of DJ Frann- he gets his first residence at the indie and electro party INROCKS CLUB (promoted by Les Inrockuptinles magazine) at Cocoliche, famous underground club in Buenos Aires. He played with big names like Juan Maclean (Dfa/NYC), Alex Gopher (FR/Kitsuné), Vitaminas for you (Canadá), Dr Trincado, and more. After that experience -and already with his actual name, CISCO- he started to play in the best parties and clubs in Buenos Aires and all around Argentina.

In april 2008 begins his own party project, Undertones, where the big opening night brought Hercules and Love affaire (Dfa/NYC) to the turntables. The party grew up very rapidly, becoming one of the most important (if not the most important) party of the independent electronic scene in Argentina. Trough the years, Undertones had the best argentinian and international DJs and producers, like Erol Alkan, Bombo, Teki Latex or Golden Bug, just to name a few ones.

Thanks to the success of the party, he decides to expand the project a bit more creation his own record label, Undertones Gang Records and an DJs/Producers/Visual Artists gang-agency. Nowadays, CISCO is the resident DJ of the Undertones parties and the CO of UGR and the agency.

Cisco is the nickname of an array of musical personalities that always manifest at the service of the dance floor and in the creation of sonic environments designed in a deliberate and arbitrary fashion. Rhythms and styles like nu disco, new funk, re-edits, house, indie-dance, deep house, jacking, Chicago or techno delineate his musical eclectisism and his aesthetic freedom. Each of his set presents itself as a new possible chronicle without genre atavisms. DJ CISCO is, above all, a de-generate.

Residences: Inrocks Club (Cocoliche/2007), Undertones (Cocoliche y Niceto Club 2008/11), Bombo Club c/ Leandro Fresco (Shampoo, Roxy/2008), “Fiestas electro de los viernes” (Voodoo Motel/2009), Delta Disco (Fetish/2010), Zombie Disco, Dengue Dancing (2010/11), Invsn (Niceto Club/2010/11), Super Sábados (Shamrock Basement 2010/11).

Played at: Undertones, Crobar (Mstrpln), Niceto Club (Compass, Club 69, Invsn, Embassy), Bugged Out (Studio Samsung), Pachá Club, Kika, Rumi, Shamrock Basement, Cocoliche, Hotel Faena, Festival Buen día, Festival Earth Day, Código Pais, Festival Ciudad Emergente del GACBA, Inspiration Fest, Voodoo Motel, Dengue Dancing (Gong Club), Undertones Córdoba, among others.

Played with: Erol Alkan (UK), Alex Gopher (FR), The Juan Maclean (US), Bobmo (FR), Vicarious Bliss (Ed Bangers), Mr.Flash (Ed Bangers), Hercules and Love affaire (US), Golden Bug (FR), N.A.S.A (US/BR), The Twelves (BR), Teki Latex (FR), Ben Mono (DE), Spoek Mathambo (SA), Zuker, Rama, Silver City (2020 Soundsystem), among others..

Rip Ryan Dunn

Hirsute Jackass regular and some time actor, Ryan Dunn, has sadly died from injuries sustained in a car crash at the age of 34.

This morning the following statement was posted on the website of Jackass production company Dickhouse Entertainment:

"I don't really know what to say right now everybody, because the sadness is overwhelming, but today we lost one of our own. Our brother Ryan Dunn has passed. He died in a car wreck in West Goshen, Pennsylvania this morning at 3 a.m. Goddamn, that's tough to write."

"Our hearts go out to his family and his beloved Angie. Ryan will be missed and remembered by us all. Thanks for the kind words of support everybody."

Dunn and his unnamed male passenger were both killed in the accident after Ryan’s Porsche reportedly went over a guardrail on Pennsylvania's Route 322 at around 3am, hitting a tree and bursting into flames.

Dunn was often thought of as "the most normal one" out of the Jackass crew despite his willingness to do anything on camera whether that be his infamous 'Poo Dive' or inserting a toy car up his ass for the Jackass movie.

Dunn's friends and fans have led an outpouring of tributes, including one from cast mate Johnny Knoxville who tweeted: "Today I lost my brother Ryan Dunn. My heart goes out to his family and his beloved Angie. RIP Ryan , I love you buddy."

The Presets album update

Super quick update for fans of Sydney's electro giants The Presets. Apparently the release date for the follow-up to the band's massive sophomore record Apocalypso may be further away than expected. Although band members, Julian Hamilton and Kim Moyes, have previously suggested their third album would come out toward the end of 2011, Kim told Triple J that may not be the case. He told them, "Look, hopefully (we have it out this year) but probably not. It's going to be good. It's been a long hard slog but I think it's going to be better than the last record. But I really liked Apocalypso so I don't know."

A must! : New Undertones compilation !

UNDERTONES GANG Vol 1: Is the debut album of Undertones Gang Records, Buenos Aires-based brand new electronic music label. UGR is the result of many years of work of UNDERTONES agency on the development of a new argentinian electronic music scene with their acclaimed parties in Buenos Aires and other cities around the country. UNDERTONES GANG RECORDS 001 puts together diverse genres and styles: from
nu disco, filter disco, house, chicago, grime, acid, techno, electro, electro rock or dubstep to more blurry and unclassifiable music. It synthetically expresses every single tendency that inhabit in Undertones as a collective creation and celebration space.

The album includes tracks from local producers from the agency roster as well as unreleased tracks by international great guests, like Munk, Bobmo or the new italian filter disco king, Scuola Furano. Other well known producers are participating with prior released great tracks. The list include: Erol Alkan, Light Year, Bottin's edit to the latest nu disco hit by Golden Bug & Rodion (released only in France so far), Clap Rules' remix of The Supermen Lovers, and last but no least, Headman with a dub version of one his latest tracks.

The local gang for this compilation is integrated by Toomy Disco, KRMPCK, Get Nuts, Beatdekids and Le Microkosmos, some of them anticipating material from their forthcoming albums, to be released in the label.

The digital edition will include two additional tracks from Holly Boom (side project of two members of KRMPCK) and from Brazil, a remix by Database to the english band Empire.

The Toxic Avenger Releases Music Video for New Single 'Never Stop'‏

Parisian electro sensation, The Toxic Avenger (AKA Simon Delacroix), releases his new single, ‘Never Stop’ through Roy Music / Universal France this summer and looks set to ignite the festival season with his hi octane, big room productions and live show.

Named one of Rolling Stone Magazine’s “Artist to Watch”, the story of The Toxic Avenger is like a warped VHS copy of a snuff film. He joined a grown-up Parisian hardcore band at age twelve. By age 22 he was packing venues with a growling new sound that left the faint at heart weak in the knees. Today Simon Delacroix is more than a paradigm-shifting producer, he’s a world-renowned remixer (Ladytron, Peaches, FF5, Chromeo, Beni Benassi feat Kelis). An iconic DJ, and diabolical hero of his own, twisted, grind-house epic.

Following up 2007’s Superheroes EP, 2008’s Bad Girls Need Love Too, 2009’s Toxic is Dead and Scion CD Sampler Vol. 26, Delacroix is fresh off the release of his 2 latest EPs, N’importe Comment, a collaboration with controversial Parisian rap iconoclast, Orelsan (#1 of the French TV music video charts airplay in 2010) and Angst one on which he invited his friends SomethingAlamode and their violins to create the magic bridge on this hybrid track both deeply melodious and radically electronic.

2011 will be a incredible time for The Toxic Avenger as he goes for his first big kill in the form of a feature-length LP entitled, “ANGST”. Hatched in Morocco. “ANGST” is a diverse, pop-format bloodbath: punk-electro, dark folk, blip-hop anthems, and of course, his trademark thriller beats; crafted along with a conspiracy of elite vocalists he met down his Parisian avenue or along the road: Annie (NO), Simon elle est bonne (FR), Lexicon (US), BonjourAfrique (FR), South central (UK), Messinian (US)..
