Kap Bambino: The Making Of 'Dead Lazers behind the scenes

Enjoy the behind the scenes from Kap Bambino's latest video for new single 'Dead Lazers' which is out now, their album 'Blacklist' is released June 1st on Because

New release by Malente coming soon !

"German super producer Malente is back with “Music Forever” another stunning single package rammed with highbrow remixes brought to you by Southern Fried Records.
Malente brings the pressure with two original cuts… “Music Forever” a quality piece of house production filled with bizarre futuristic samples and old school breaks laid on top of keys reminiscent of the early 90’s house movement….

And “Feel It” another production master class from the main man Malente. This numbers got more of a summer vibe to it yet at the same time will smash up the main room every time it builds and builds until dropping in to the full on crowd rocking madness that Malente knows only too well. An outrageous remix package comes courtesy of Freaks (Classic), Dada Life (Pickadoll / Big & Dirty), Solo (Dirty Bird), Urchins (Palms Out Blog) and Act Yo Age (Sweat It Out). And last but not least Alex Gopher, as he loved “Feel It” that much, taylored an Edit after he received the DJ-Promo."

Introducing MYNX – They’re so LA

MYNX is a dynamic combination of punchy lyrics, infectious hooks and fierce vocals that make for a sound that calls up imagery of an Electro rebirth of Sonny & Cher or The B-52s-meets-Goldfrapp. MYNX is an expression of extreme rage, extreme glamour, extreme fun. MYNX is pop, it's rock, it's disco, it's electro. MYNX is dangerous, sexy, and contagious.

Ara and Holly, the duo behind MYNX, are exactly the eccentric, energetic, and sharp-witted characters you would expect to be behind a project like MYNX. Just a few years ago, the fashionable duo burst onto the scene with the satirical, “I’m So L.A.” The song achieved an instant cult-like following with fans posting their own home-made videos of the song on YouTube and endearing fans literally all over the world. These “fan video’s are available for viewing here

“MYNX is more than a band. It’s a religion. We plan on evangelizing the world with our hot gospel. I'm not even joking. I'm sure we could also budget some time for some good old MYNX shenanigans. Climbing the Eiffel Tower in matching unitards, setting zoo animals free and what not,” Ara says.

Leading MYNX’s first official release – Out Of Sight, Out Of Mind EP - is the single, “Kissie Show,” accompanied by a bonus offering of the song that started it all, “I’m So L.A.” “Kissie Show” is the glitzy new wave dancefloor stormer with dirty, dirty synths and campy sexual lyrics that display the band’s dry sense of humor about everything - especially sex. The title track is for the dancefloor to bedroom interlude, with enticing breathy vocal and a poignant display of emotion that shows a softer and, dare we say, more vulnerable side to the seemingly impenetrable duo. Though raw in emotion, the song is elegantly crafted much in the style of Garbage.

Rounding out the EP is a song that allows fans to experience the playful side of MYNX with the song, “Wolfgang Bang.” At once quirky and deliciously creepy, “Wolfgang Bang” is laced with jagged rhythms and a propulsive guitar line that reminds you what’s to love about 80’s dance rock in the first place.

Too coarse to be classy but too intelligent to be trashy, MYNX slinks around in that smoky area in between - which is exactly where they like to be.

Emperor Machine´s The Clapper !

Hot on the heels of the majestic double a-side 'Black Ken/You Clapper'(DCR93) comes this double-sided slab of divergent disco music from The Emperor Machine that further showcases the forthcoming new album 'Space Beyond The Egg', which is due out on June 1st.

Title track 'Kananana' is a searing pop oddity replete with murmurous vocals and swinging guitar licks. It ebbs bit by bit into the mind of the listener, gradually imbuing a weird sense of vacant bliss alongside a swelling emotional charge - this is a new strain of mutated pop genius! With a remarkable video by the esteemed Cassiano Prado and Guilherme Marcondes of Celebro Productions, who have animated the marvellous La Boca artwork, coming very soon this one is set to be perhaps the greatest cosmic utterance from The Emperor Machine yet.

In contrast to this fuzzy cloud of pure joy is the wholly explicit b-side 'Snatch Shot (Extended Version)', a meditation through music on the transience of modern copulation. Dark and warm, compelling and confounding by turn, this one will leave you panting and slightly nauseous.

This single will be followed by a new assault from The Emperor Machine Live!
Look out for The Emperor Machine dates at Lovebox and Glastonbury. More to be confirmed soon.

New video coming soon.

LIVE DATES:

6 June, France Aix en Provence La Cité du Livre
12 June, Mad Ferret Festival - Platt Fields Park - Manchester
13 June, The Social - Paris
27 June, Glastonbury
19 July, Lovebox, London

MODERNAIRE. LOVE THEM

Just two EPs into their career they’ve already caught the ears and imaginations of plenty of people who like to call themselves tastemakers.

It’s easy to see why though, with their jerky hard edged synthpop, twisted tales of bloody revenge, lovelorn minotaurs, dancing vampires and flamboyant adventures and some quality fringe action going on, they’re a guaranteed hard on for today’s A&R man looking for his own crossover SMASH.

Plus with two girls in the band, my maths reckon they could easily have La Roux or Little Boots if it came to blows.

If you’re in London this weekend you can catch them playing live on Saturday at Be’s weekly boondoggle in Camden.

KITSUNE 7 OH YESSSSSSoon !

Kitsuné Maison 7, the lucky one

Various Artists

Release date

June 9, 2009

Kitsuné gets more and more professional, but stays as fresh and passionate as ever. With a constantly expanding network and always more news, discoveries, talents soon to blow-up, hopes, love, happiness and he-do-nism.

The Maison is not so much a withdrawal, but more of a welcoming space, open to all winds. There are newcomers but also loyalty, some artists are now firmly part of, not just the maison, but the Kitsuné family. Lately the bands from the Kitsuné Maison compilations have also started to play some collective shows together: Kitsuné En Vrai! (Kitsuné For Real!).

The Kitsuné sieve keeps on searching for gold and inevitably some mornings the discoveries put you in a good mood. So here’s already the seventh compilation, the one that strikes lucky.

Kitsuné Maison 7” will be released June 9, 2009 on Kitsune. Pick it up on iTunes, Amazon, Beatport, eMusic, and other fine digital outlets.

OH and by the way u can download one of the tracks featured in the compilation, Autokratz ´s "Always more" mixed by the great Yuksek!!!

“Kitsuné Maison 7” Tracklisting

1. TWO DOOR CINEMA CLUB - Something Good Can Work

They’re very young, very shy, very three, very Northern Irish. They’re into melody, very much so. We believe in them. Close your eyes and here you are: somewhere else. The most beautiful song there is.

2. WE HAVE BAND - Time After Time

They’re young too, also three, although there’s a couple in the trio. A mental energy on stage that’s left the Parisian audience of a Kitsuné En Vrai gig totally battered. Proper heroes.

3. PHOENIX - Lisztomania (CLASSIXX Version)

Here’s the first single of the long awaited new Phoenix album, remixed by the new Los Angeles scene: Classixx. A production that’s evocative of a Corvette in the sun, carefree, before it all gets dangerously heated up. Quite convenient too when you’re fifteen (at least spiritually) to French kiss for a whole five minutes.

4. CRYSTAL FIGHTERS - Xtatic Truth

They say: “We make dance music with Basque instruments, synths and our voices”. In London people talk of Folktronica. At Kitsuné’s headquarter in Montmartre, we find that it opens the door quite a bit and let fresh air comes in.

5. THE GOLDEN FILTER - Favourite Things

The italo-disco scene revitalized by these New Yorkers who have been close to Kitsuné for a long time. The girl goes through her list of favorite things and that’s enough for us: “coffee, sugar, ice cream, vintage dresses, kittens, rabbits, Paris, nice girls, cute boys”. Feels familiar.

6. LA ROUX - In For The Kill (LIFELIKE Remix)

Here La Roux is remixed by Lifelike, mr glamour from Strasbourg. These days she’s one of the most fashionable artists in the Kitsuné Maison. The track is as smooth as a yellow Testarossa that won’t stop, just like Donna Summer’s endless orgasms. The beat revolves around broken glass, yes we drink Russian-style at Kitsuné.

7. BENI - Fringe Element (Short Like Me Edit)

Young, charismatic producer, he makes club music. He’s part of the good, ebullient Aussie scene. The track takes an unexpected turn, in discotheque slang it’s called ‘major sweating’.

8. AutoKratz - Always More (Yuksek Remix)

----> DOWNLOAD! 320glory <--------

The band of the moment remixed by the remixer of the moment, a healthy Manchester/Paris connectivity. The break is sublime: ‘take my hand, you can break my heart’ sung through a vocoder. We don’t aim to be too lyrical but… In June 2009 Kitsuné releases Autokratz’s album.

9. 80 KIDZ - Miss Mars

A Tokyo trio that’s crept up on the electro radar these last few months. They’re extremely polite, take great care of the way they dress; they’re Japanese and we believe the best of their scene right now.

10. JAMES YUILL - This Sweet Love (Prins Thomas Sneaky Edit)

Atmospheric and acoustic, check the contrast between the simplicity of the voice and the richness of the Prins Thomas remix. Extremely beautiful song, another vision of the sun. Because we’re talking of a maison and not a barn, Kitsuné likes to relax but not let go totally.

11. MEN - Make It Reverse

There had to be an act who would call itself Men. The lesbian scene moves in la Maison. A very militant sound, alternative sexuality, new hormones for a new life. They have as much energy as ‘radicality’, it quickly entices you to jump up and down. Very good very loud at four in the morning to do what you do at four in the morning.

12. CHEW LIPS - Solo

The sound of east London now today, not just another guitar band. Music that experiments and improvises among four tons of influences. The city’s urgency, the impatience, the vitality, the whirling.

13. CHATEAU MARMONT - Beagle

The thirteen track on the seventh Maison. Here are some French people impressed by the luxurious Californian hotel where fashionable actors come to die. They’re childhood friends, into science fiction, and down the end a sound quite hard to grasp.

14. HEARTSREVOLUTION - 薔薇と彼女の王子

The band behind the craziest track of Maison 6 makes a welcome return. Their album will come out in September 2009 and love will rain. They’re handsome, they have a Swarovski microphone, plenty of ideas, they’ll go a long way. True idols.

15. DELPHIC - Counterpoint (Delphic’s En Route Mix)

Delphic is a British band from Manchester, Kitsuné will release their album in September 2009. Influences range from Orbital to Underworld, very much what we like. To listen at sunset, sunrise and in between.

16. ENCORE –

An empty index, the moment people scream for an encore at a concert.

17. MAYBB - Touring In NY (Short Tour Edit)

Here hides a very, very famous guy who doesn’t wish to be named. So we can’t give away much, it’ll drive you crazy, but really we can’t tell you more.

18. RENAISSANCE MAN – Rythym

They’re Finnish from Helsinki, used to be students with Abäke, Kitsuné’s graphic designers. Yes there is nepotism too at Kitsuné. The result could be used as soundtrack for contemporary ballet, it sure cleans the aural pipes.

19. TANLINES – Bejan

Tribal and epic music from New York. Their own press release sums it up perfectly: “Balearic and disco Larry Levan-style with an insistent euphoric charm that’s perfect to blow up the soft-skinned British students.”

Clash The Disko Kids (CTDK) is a Singapore electro-techno-house trio consisting of DJ Itchi, Kurt and Weili. Together as Clash The Disko Kids, they have been formidable on the dance floors as Singapore’s most popular electronic group. With over 15 years turntable experience between them, and a blatant disregard for music genres, they are known for incorporating a strong rock influence into their sets and image.

Meet Drlkt - Freddie ! ! !

Acquaintances for years, Jad Cooper and Van Scott came together in early 2008 for one studio session. Chemistry was instantaneous and the duo have not stopped working together since.
With a shared love for the same kind of vision, these two NYC-based DJs formed Drlkt Freddie, a production team and live act. Their diverse sound is pulled from many influences with songs that all have the common denominator to move you.
Furiously working in the studio on original material for the debut EP, Drlkt Freddie has offered up a remix to Lauren Flax and Sia's newest single "You've Changed" and Alexander Technique & Princess Superstar's latest "Rock U" and two new singles "Blood" and "Airtight" as a preview of what is to come. Look forward to upcoming remixes for Roxy Cottentail and Semi Precious Weapons.

Enjoy his latest original track and remixes !!!

DATAROCK ´S NEW GIVE IT UP ! ! !

‘Give It Up’ is the awesome comeback single from Datarock’s second album ‘Red’, due out in June. It’s typical Datarock, a brilliant slice of eighties inspired pop - complete with typically witty and surreal lyrics - that hooks you in on first listen.
It was actually an idea for a music video before it became a song, paraphrasing ‘Beat It’, ‘Bad’, the 1961 film of ‘West Side Story’ and the 1996 film of ‘Romeo & Juliet’. “You have a dance battle,” explains Datarock head honcho Fredrik Saroea, “where a Datarock gang meets the bad guys, and we have a dance off, and then everybody becomes the Datarock gang. And I’m like Mercutio, trying to tell Romeo to shape up, snap out of it, give it up.” He continues, “Thing is, just singing a song about dancing… it’s too simple. Everyone’s gonna dance anyway. So it’s nice to do something insane in the lyrics, like paraphrasing, you know, ‘Romeo & Juliet!’”.
Datarock first wowed us back in 2005 with their ‘Datarock Datarock’ debut that Fredrik scrappily assembled in ProTools with his musical other-half Ketil Mosnes. It mixed relentless punk-funk with warped, evaporated-in-translation Happy Mondays humour and became the party album of 2005. And they looked cool as fuck with their red tracksuits and oversized shades.

OH BY THE WAY, CAUSE THEY ARE SUPER NICE U CAN GET YOUR GREASY HANDS ON THE TRINITY OF NEW REMIXES !!!
