BAG RAIDERS - SUNLIGHT VIDEO PREMIERE & FREE GLOVES REMIX!!
Sunlight is the 2nd single from Bag Raiders self-titled debut album, available digitally now and on CD and vinyl in the UK and Europe on Valentines Day 2011. The ecstatic summertime in a bassline track is almost out-joyed by it's accompanying video, directed by French pair Fleur&Manu.
It may seen particularly ridiculous talking about "sunlight" and "ecstasy" right now but love don't stop just because it's cold. Whether it can melt the snow is yet to be seen but without doubt this is the warmest 4 minute escape you'll take today.

F.O.O.L have been called the production GODS of Sweden. No, it's not Black Metal, but it is the kind of Electro that makes churches get fire insurance. Heavy, raw, and screaming, yet built to move people on the dance floor, the vicious sounds of F.O.O.L (Fuck Our Ordinary Lives) are louder and dirtier than the homeless guy who waits outside of your local liquor store. So why give him a dollar when he's just going to spend it on alcohol… oh wait… that's what we are going to spend our money on. Cheers!!!
F.O.O.L put their best foot forward with their "Reborn EP". "Reborn" and "Escape the Cave" have been called two of the best Electro tracks of the year. A beautiful musical soundscape mixed with hard but pure Electro proves to be a perfect blend for listening and dance floor damage. If that wasn't enough, the remix package on this EP takes it over the top. France's Mega Electro Star Tom Deluxx, South Africa's biggest and baddest new "it" boy Haezer, Italy's bad boys (and top-ten Beatport charters with their EP on CRUX) The Boomzers, Australia's next big thing Redial, and the UK's bomb droppers RETZ make for a release that could be considered one of the best of 2010.
Cut Copy are proud to share the 3rd Chapter in their four part, Krozm-directed Zonoscope documentary, entitled “Dark Side Of The Pleasure Dome.” This episode sees the guys finishing their recording work at the Melbourne warehouse space, Christmas Street, going a bit mad in the process, and revealing a few more looks at “Zonoscope”'s songs.
Fresh from playing headline UK tour, The Drums are set to release single and live favourite, ‘Me and the Moon’ on November 13th. The band were also nominated for “Best New Act” at the Q Awards 2010, which followed the news the band were voted NME’s “Best New Festival Band” (polling 25% of their readers’ votes) – the latter coming after a succession of thrilling UK festival shows including Glastonbury, Reading/Leeds, T in the Park, Oxegen and their support slot with Kings of Leon at Hyde Park, London.
Inspired by the DeLorean DMC-12, Nike 6.0 Introduces the Limited-Edition DeLorean Nike Dunk, a Fusion of Innovation and Style. Influenced by the DMC-12′s aerodynamic design and trademark characteristics, Nike reinterpreted the car’s sleek stainless steel exterior into a matte silver, no-sew constructed upper while also taking cues from the gull-wing doors on the bottom eyestay. The shoe’s outsole references the Delorean’s tail lights and the DMC-12′s rear window shades reappear as graphic lines on the heel replacing the traditional stitches. Meanwhile, the Belfast stamp on the tongue is a nod to the Irish factory that originally produced the vehicle.
Like the rebellious, rare and flashy DMC-12, the DeLorean Nike Dunk champions the unexpected by making a statement. This super limited-edition shoe will be available starting on November 26th, Black Friday, at Store.Nike.com, Niketown locations, Salvation (Irvine, CA) and select nationwide retailers.
Banksy's debut feature film, "guerrilla documentary" Exit Through The Gift Shop, has been named as one of 15 shortlisted documentaries in The Academy Awards' Best Documentary category. This means that Banksy could be a potential Oscar nominee or winner in a few months times. What a tantalizing prospect, if only for the possible unveiling of Banksy's highly guarded identity. He's the world's most prolific phantom street artist; so, hypothetically, if he does make it onto the final list of Academy Award nominees and then his name gets called out on the night, what the hell will happen next? Awkward silence? The return of Sacheen Littlefeather? The unveiling of an elaborate Banksy prank from inside the Kodak Theatre?
Hypothetical wins aside, the most interesting part of Exit Through The Gift Shop's spot on the shortlist is the validation that it is, in fact, a documentary. As those who've seen it will attest, the film's final third feels like calculated parody - high satire of art world dilettantes and those who buy, sell, make and fuel contemporary art. Many critics called it a mockumentary in their reviews but in the Academy's eyes - it's all real. Personally, I still can't decide whether it's more I'm Still Here or Beautiful Losers but I'm ecstatic that an artist this subversive can get mainstream recognition from such an iconic institution. God, imagine if he wins the Best Documentary award then reveals it was satire all along. You'd never see something more beautiful in your life.
Here's a list of the other films that made the pre-nomination shortlist:
“Client 9: The Rise and Fall of Eliot Spitzer” Alex Gibney, director (ES Productions LLC) “Enemies of the People” Rob Lemkin and Thet Sambath, directors (Old Street Films) “Exit through the Gift Shop” Banksy, director (Paranoid Pictures) “Gasland” Josh Fox, director (Gasland Productions, LLC) “Genius Within: The Inner Life of Glenn Gould” Michele Hozer and Peter Raymont, directors (White Pine Pictures) “Inside Job” Charles Ferguson, director (Representational Pictures) “The Lottery” Madeleine Sackler, director (Great Curve Films) “Precious Life” Shlomi Eldar, director (Origami Productions) “Quest for Honor” Mary Ann Smothers Bruni, director (Smothers Bruni Productions) “Restrepo” Tim Hetherington and Sebastian Junger, directors (Outpost Films) “This Way of Life” Thomas Burstyn, director (Cloud South Films) “The Tillman Story” Amir Bar-Lev, director (Passion Pictures/Axis Films) “Waiting for ‘Superman” Davis Guggenheim, director (Electric Kinney Films) “Waste Land” Lucy Walker, director (Almega Projects) “William Kunstler: Disturbing the Universe” Emily Kunstler and Sarah Kunstler, directors (Disturbing the Universe LLC)
The Documentary Branch Screening Committee viewed all the eligible documentaries for the preliminary round of voting. Documentary Branch members will now select the five nominees from among the 15 titles on the shortlist.

Zonoscope will be released in 2011 on February 4th in Australia, February 7th in the UK and Europe, and February 8th in North America.
Following on from their debut, 2004's Bright Like Neon Love, and the band's international breakthrough, 2008's In Ghost Colours, Zonoscope is described as the band's "most ambitious work yet". From the presser:
Zonoscope is Cut Copy boiled down to their purest form, a suite of futuristic visions built upon primal rhythm tracks. It is at once their most immediate work to date but also their most sonically exquisite. 'Take Me Over' perfectly encapsulates this, its chiming highlife guitars bouncing around tropical percussion reminiscent of an island holiday in a pop song. (more on The Vine)
La Bombe is the brand new label from UK DJ/producer Sharooz. Launching with a simple goal, their sole mission is to release forward thinking dancefloor bombs, irrespective of genre.
Their latest release comes from brand new talent Opptimo, with his sample slain, disco-infused, dancefloor shaking 'Travellers EP'. Already winning the support of R1's Andy George, Mylo, Mason, Treasure Fingers, Beataucue and Larry Tee to name but a few, the EP includes the fantasic remix from the hotly tipped Phonat, and a re-edit by label boss Sharooz.
Check out Tonka's Hypermodern Disco Mix of 'Shock Absorber' by London born, rising starlet Mercedes. The multi talented 23 year old of South American and Jamaican descent, has already worked as a dancer for artists such as Will.i.am, Robbie Williams, LL Cool J and Snoop Dog, touring with them and performing at various award shows.
As a child she received a great musical education from her mother's friends, introducing her to artists like A Tribe Called Quest, Public Enemy, Beastie Boys and particularly Old School Hip Hop. She cites all those old school acts as an influence on her music, keeping a distinctly urban sound that she combines effectively with original electronic rhythms. This combination of sounds is clearly visible in 'Shock Absorber', a quintessential party stomper peppered with influences from flamboyant artists with personality like Grace Jones, Bjork, Radiohead, Prince and David Bowie.
Im not a band are releasing their album "Electrolin" on january 14th on ADP records. check out the teaser video and expect more goodies soon. a few posts below u can check out the "Crazy" EP already released is a pre drop.
They are electronic and they are from Berlin. It’s their artist name „I’m not a Band“ that reveals that this combo is something special and likes to break conventions. Stephan J. founder and musical brain behind the band soon learned is affinity to the violin and classical music. His residence in musical and cultural strongholds London and Berlin influenced him to found this project of danceable and electronic clubsound underlining the essential and mood directing elements: the violins and the vocals.
This combination is what creates the blend of sometimes gloomy and dramatic, yet playful and frisky and all through thrilling sound of „I’m not a Band“. In a manner that is typical for electronic music most of their songs lead into explosive outbursts and catchy verses, yet never losing the reference to sophisticated music.
Since 2010 Kassandra P. perfects the unique concept with her outstanding vocals and a second violin. After shows allover Germany, Poland, Switzerland and even Great Britain „I’m not a Band“ ups the ante with their first full lenght album "Electrolin" and a professional video to „Crazy“

THE GUARDIAN: “SINGLE OF THE WEEK: TOTALLY STUPENDOUS MECHANICAL POP MUSIC”
In between live shows at BBC Radio 1’s Ibiza Weekend, Reading, Leeds, Bestival, Rockness, Creamfields, and beyond, The Japanese Popstars are finishing their second album. They’ve just remixed Gorillaz’ ‘Melancholy Hill’, and are drip-feeding a series of club tracks to satiate those eagerly awaiting the long-player’s release in early 2011.
Following the ‘Destroy EP’, a sonic appetiser that saw them joined by Jon Spencer (he of the Blues Explosion), the next release is ‘Let Go’, featuring the madcap legend that is Green Velvet. First leaked online earlier this month, ‘Let Go’, has picked up praise from a range of blogs.
Hailed as the rightful heirs to Underworld, Leftfield, The Chemical Brothers, and Orbital, The Japanese Popstars’ debut album, ‘We Just Are’ was championed by The Guardian, Word, Artrocker, NME, Clash, Popjustice, Mixmag, DJ, Radio 1, XFM, and beyond. The singles earned the support of Soulwax, Benny Benassi, Zane Lowe and the rest of the electronic elite.
Recent key shows have included Radio 1’s In New Music We Trust and Ibiza weekend live events, Parklife, Benicassim, Rockness, Club NME (they return on 8th October to Koko), their support slot for Tiesto and Pendulum in Victoria Park, London, and many more. The band will shortly embark on a French festival tour.
Remixes on ‘Let Go’ come from Green Velvet, Joe & Will Ask, Aspirin, Mixhell, and Luke Walker.
Check out the track 'Sun Demon' by the iconic band Stereolab; previously having been hailed as one of pop's most influential ensembles by Spin Magazine, they return with their twelfth album and is released during the band's self-imposed hiatus from recording and touring. The album will be released via Stereolab's own imprint Duophonic UHF Disks. Over the summer of 2007 Stereolab reconvened at Instant Zero, their studio in Bordeaux to record 32 luminous new songs which would become two distinct albums - 2008's Chemical Chords and their new release, Not Music.
I think we can all agree that The Simpsons stopped being the arbiter of cultural relevance it once was, like, a few years ago but this opening title sequence, story-boarded and directed by anonymous UK provocateur Banksy, takes self-deprecating satire to whole new levels of funny, brave, dark and sad - and ultimately, should be applauded. Really. It's surprising this even aired at all and marks the first time (in a while) I've felt an emotion other than mild amusement, silent rage or indifference while watching the show. I mean, perhaps there's hope yet for these four fingered relics of zeitgeist-capturing television. That, or Banksy's a genius and can do whatever he wants. I think Bansky is a genius and can do whatever he wants.
