Pioneering dance music label Deconstruction Records are proud to announce their new signing, the legendary musician, DJ, club promoter and producer extraordinare, Kenneth Bager. Joining a roster of artists that range from Beth Ditto and Sasha to Retro/Grade and Way Out West, Calvin Harris being the labels new A&R. Bager inked the deal with Sony Music VP of A&R and Deconstruction MD Mike Pickering, and is set for a UK release of his single ‘The Sound of Swing’ and album ‘The Sounds of…’ through the label this summer.

Kenneth Bager’s career to date has spanned over three decades. ‘Denmark’s original space cadet’, as he is referred to by Pete Tong, first made waves on the European dance music scene in the early 80s when he initiated and ran Copenhagen’s answer to London’ Shoom’, the now worldwide renowned Coma Club parties. Through the Coma Club parties Kenneth was responsible for bringing the likes of Sven Vath, Todd Terry, Paul Oakenfold, Norman Jay, Coldcut and The Orb, to Denmark for the first time. Fast-forward to this decade and Kenneth Bager continues to influence many. In addition to continuing his promotion of the Coma Club parties alongside his new club venture Home Party and DJing for P3 Radio Station (Denmark’s equivalent of Radio 1) along with his own weekly radio show at Ibiza Sonica , Kenneth spends his time producing music and running his Music For Dreams label. It was on Music For Dreams that Kenneth originally released his self-produced album, ‘Fragments From A Space Cadet’, which garnered critical global acclaim and a Grammy nomination in Denmark. Now set for release under the title‚ The Sounds of...’ , the album has been picked up by Deconstruction Records and is set for a UK release in September of this year.

Punks Jump Up New Single - Chimes pt.1

Get transfixed by the rhythmic melody that is CHIMES pt 1, the new summer single from Punks Jump Up.

Chimes pt 1, the follow up to Punks Jump Up (www.punksjumpup.co.uk) rhythm monster Blockhead released earlier this year is a driving & melodic disco track with anthemic possibilities. It will be the first release on the prolific Klein Records' new off shoot alternative dance label kleinTanz (www.kleintanz.com).

Remixes come from the legendary dance maestro REMUTE from Hamburg, cryptic YOUNGER THAN ME a fresh name taking the London scene by surprise, golden boy of disco GOLDEN BUG from Barcelona and last but not least, SAY YES TO ANOTHER EXCESS (Danny from The C90s & Stopmakingme). This enigmatic but high scoring duo from London released their first Single on the Australian Bang Gang imprint in May.

Chimes Pt 1 will hypnotize you with it's rhythmic melody this summer.

EP Tracks:
1. Chimes pt.1
2. Chimes (Say Yes to Another Excess Remix)
3. Chimes (Younger Than Me Remix)
4. Chimes (Golden Bug Remix)

Modular update

http://hedonista.files.wordpress.com/2011/07/chromeo-when-the-night-falls-breakbot-remix-490x490.jpg?w=490&h=490

Chromeo, are back with a new selection of remixes.

The single, 'When The Night Falls' features Solange Knowles making a guest appearance on vocals, with remix action undertaken by Breakbot, Lifelike, Mayer Hawthorne and this particularly fine reworking from long-time Modular friends, Hercules & Love Affair.

As expected, they've taken the catchy original and hoisted it into a new stratosphere of party-rocking, heart-thrilling and downright dancefloor ready seduction. Vive le Chromeo!

This Friday Canyons will finally break out of their Sydney studio like exotic caged animals returning to the wild to go wild, in celebration of completing their debut album. It's a wrap party!

To mark this special occasion, Ryan has mixed this particularly fine selection of jams, just for you. A taste of the sonic adventures the boys have been on, and an idea of the tone of Friday nights shenanigans.

Set for a late 2011 release, this yet-to-be-titled album seamlessly travels through the many generations of dance culture - from freeform hippies frolicking green pastures, through to the liberating New York lofts, mid-tempo sun kissed balearia, the hard edged body music of Chicago and exhilarating 90s vocal house.

And you best believe that in the club, Canyons' DJ sets are all of these things plus more! So make sure if you're in Melbourne on Friday night get yourself to the Buffalo Club, 22 Sutherland Street (enter via Latrobe Street). Support from Michael Cue It up & the Bam-Bam Boogie Boys.

Entry $12, 10pm til late

Tracklist:

from modular:

We are pretty damn excited to announce that Modular will be hosting the Roller Disco stage at Bestival on Friday September 8.

When we say Roller Disco, we're not joking, we mean the mother of all roller discos. With music blasting from a giant-sized jukebox stage, and vintage skates free to hire. (Or if someone else's wheels doesn't quite float yer boat, you can get your own high-tops pimped with sick trucks.) And don't worry, if you're not super confident about skates, there's plenty of room for you without wheels.

On said stage you'll be able to enjoy some of the label's finest, including Azari & III, Bag Raiders and Sneaky Sound System. And Cut Copy will also be playing on the Friday, at the Big Top. BOOM!

Over the coming weeks we'll be giving away a number of double passes to Bestival, so if you want the chance to score yourself one of these gems, make sure you like us on Facebook.

Hailing from the Netherlands, close mates The Walk and Rogerseventytwo are TWR72, and these guys are going to be very big indeed.

We think that by rights, Future Tool should be one of the biggest breakthrough records of 2011.

Support already coming from Zombie Nation, A-Trak, The Sound Pellegrino Thermal Team, Paul Chambers & Boris Dluglosch.

NT89 is such a fan that he has covered their first track 'The Tunnel' for this Bad Life release. Nima NT89 said "I absolutely love them, no doubt my favourite up and coming act."
