SOUTH CENTRAL remake Josh Wink classic “Higher State Of Consciousness”
South Central get their hands on the classic "Higher State of Consciousness" by Josh Wink updating the track to the 2008-9 sound. That meaning a lot more distortion, more acid lines and to be honest one of the best remixes of this track that i heard (and thats a lot of mixes). Grab it or watch the video first, your choice.
South Central 'Higher State'
“South Central hints at a wider-spanning, more inventive sonic range that should shame the ever-growing Justice/Boys Noize “Xerox posse” into hibernation”
– Remix Magazine
“South Central's tracks are complex and backed by much more than just a simple turntable-mixer combo. They songs are epic and malleable, and their approach is more punk rock than their sound might lead one to believe.”
– Redefine Magazine
“Rising vocals match a climbing synthesizer that sounds like an intense Galaga match and explode in a thousand divergent pieces.”
– Aquarian Weekly
“Famous for doing amazing live covers of Daft Punk’s “Da Funk” and a sick version of Josh Wink’s “Higher State Of Consciousness.”

MNUVRS MIXTAPE 5 - The Clash Disko Kids !
YES YES YES a massive new post for the Mnuvrs Mixtape Vault from CLASH THE DISKO KIDS (CTDK), Singapore’s Number 1 electronic group. This trio of young superstars have done it all, entertaining thousands in clubs all over the far east: Home, Butter Factory, Phuture (Zouk, Singapore), Loft (Zouk, Malaysia), and Prost (Jakarta, Indonesia). CTDK aslo run a very well renound night: “You Say Party! We Say Rave!”, as well as playing, the guys also invite some quality acts along to play alongside them. Previous acts include Twilight Action Girl (KL), Dubwise (SG), Shawn Livewire (SG) and DJ Inquisitive (SG). CTDK have also played alongside popular DJs such as Steve Aoki (USA), Boys Noize (GER), Bang Gang DJs (AUS), Simian Mobile Disco (UK), Dex Pistols (JPN), Jay J (USA), Max Graham (USA), Brewster B (Australia), Soul of Man (UK) & Dub Pistols (UK).
So to sum up we are very VERY lucky to have the boys on board here at Mnuvrs. They haven’t disappointed either, an extremely tight mix full of some absolutely belting bangers and bass thumping monsters. JUST HOW WE LIKE IT. Featuring tracks by the likes of LATE OF THE PIER, PRODIGY, the massive and skitzo remix of MR OIZO - POSITIF by LFO, FUKKK OFFF and TITTSWORTH, this mix has a bit of everything and will not fail to have you throwing shapes of the most exotic kind!
Biography:
Clash The Disko Kids (CTDK) is a Singapore electro-techno-house trio consisting of DJ Itchi, Kurt and Weili. As individual ‘kids’, each has proven themselves worthy throughout various DJ competitions held in Singapore for the past few years. Between them, they have swept titles such as Juice DJ Quest Champion & Frontal Super Star DJ Project Champion, Pioneer PRO DJ Regional Final Runner Up and Heineken Thirst Studio Runner-up.
Together as Clash The Disko Kids, they have been formidably on the dance floors as Singapore’s most popular electronic group. With over 15 years turntable experience between them, and a blatant disregard for music genres, they are known for incorporating a strong rock influence into their sets and image. A CTDK set is like one big lesson in the history of electronic music in one night. You can only expect a mural of sounds when CTDK go behind the decks.
The trio seemed to have emerged out of the concrete jungle and reinvented the clubbing landscape in Singapore, putting their own sick twists towards music such as adding samples, accapellas and sound fx to their DJ sets. The result puts smiles on clubbers’ faces and hands up in the air. Inside the studios, the trio have remixed a number of singles, such as The Go! Team’s “Grip On A Vice” and CSS’s “Alala”, SebastiAn’s “Motor”. These tracks have been on the playlist of many other DJs and were featured on weblogs such as Discobelle, OneMoreDisco, and BigStereo, among others. Currently, they are producing original tracks for their upcoming album.

Track 4 is the dub of Shooting Stars and it is awesome, I love the vocal, but i really love a dub, i even just love the word dub. Not for the dinner table but for me thats enough, I mean Who wants to listen to the dub version at a dinner table, unless your listening to dub as in ragga, as in bob motherfuckin marly (sorry couldnt help it)

Solid Gold delivers a new track!
Get Over It is the debut UK single release from Solid Gold, a Minneapolis 3-piece who brew up a potent heady mixture of memorable pop hooks, warm synths and dreamy lysergic vocals powered along with a precise & liquid funk. Get Over It is the lead track from Bodies of Water, their debut album recorded over the last 12 months in locations as diverse as abandoned farmhouses, city basements and a cabin on a frozen lake.
They won the 'Lets Get Physical ' contest thrown by WeSC and Vice magazine last year, resulting in them being flown to London to headline the WeSC/Vice event at The Old Blue Last. From there they flew on to Iceland to headline the opening night of last years Airwaves Festival. After turning heads at SXSW earlier this year, they were hand picked to support the Ting Tings in their home town of Minneapolis.
Get Over It will be released as a limited edition 7" in late November, individually numbered; featuring unique sleeves hand-painted by the band, available through all cool indie stores. The band are currently arranging uk dates for early 09. The album will be released shortly after.
Plus Move´s new EP!
Boston before they learned the art of time travel. Both he and Shifrin were playing in rock bands, with their only common thread was a shared interest in Radiohead. “I was actually into producing hip-hop beats when we first met, and I threw Daft Punk in the same category as the bland, repetitive, four-on-the-floor stuff that I couldn’t get into. But once I understood the energy behind it, I started listening to all the other French producers.”
Plus Move got everyone’s attention when they leaked their bootleg remix of Justice’s funk-squelch anthem “D.A.N.C.E” to some of their favorite music blogs back in the summer of 2007. “We first heard the song as a radio rip,” Shifrin recalls. “It wasn’t even the full song or the final version, but we fell in love with it and immediately chopped the shit out of the track to get rid of the radio noise, re-worked it completely and sent it back out to every blog that we liked. Before we knew it, we were getting emails from people all over the world.”
One of those emails got their attention more than the other messages from crazed fans. It was an anonymous invitation to a meeting in a basement underneath M.I.T., just minutes from the Plus Move studio. Shifrin and Mihailoff are reluctant to reveal specifics, but the story goes that they were introduced to someone they refer to cryptically as “Sphinx.” When asked if “Sphinx” is the mythical being described in Egyptian and Greek mythology, Plus Move boldly puts forth that Sphinx “has taken many different forms throughout time.”
The next part of the story may be even less credible, yet the recordings that make up the “2099” EP are presented for your consideration. Plus Move claim to have traveled through time with Sphinx to the year 2099, where together they defeated the evil ruler BOSS. In the ensuing days spent in 2099, Plus Move and Sphinx recorded these songs and brought them back to the present day as documented proof of their travels.
The cool heads at Expansion Team Records, for whom the duo had previously remixed a Ready Fire Aim track, immediately took notice of the change in Shifrin and Mihailoff’s disposition. The “2099” recordings shifted and morphed with more unpredictable dynamics than a multi-car pileup, equal parts apocalypse and apotheosis in the mix. Label boss and fellow futurist Alex Moulton lent his ear to the music, helping co-produce the songs to make them understandable to early-21st century ears.
Plus Move recently relocated to Austin, Texas, a move necessitated by the need for physical space to assemble their next secret project. The duo are reportedly building a structure they believe is a time machine that allows for hundreds (if not thousands) of fans to join them on their subsequent journeys to the future. How’s that for DIY?
Check out one of the three tracks in the EP, "Boss" and start jumpin and dancin. A great track stating the great quality of this new release. Justice, Mstrkft, daft punk fans will love this one.
