Ursula1000 vs. The Yardbirds ! ! !

The Great Ursula1000 gets his hands on the classic track from the Yardbirds "For YourLove" giving it a new point of view , filled with electro and techy arrangements it makes me hear it again and again! I love Bootlegs!

Who is Ursula1000? (u must now by now but ok)

The man behind URSULA 1000 is none other than the mild mannered, multi-instrumentalist Alex Gimeno. Based in New York City, Alex's style evolved and transitioned from the sophisticated & hip background score provided by his father, a renowned member of the 50's Latin orchestra, Los Chavales De Espana, to the heady rock, punk, disco, funk and electronic dance music of his generation. Alex smoothly moves back and forth between musical styles from the glamorous Jet Set era to frenetic electronica. Alex cannot be boxed in, categorized or labeled, his music is a multi-leveled eclectic blend of styles and genres. Finding a label to house this eclecticism could be tricky. Lo and behold came the smart and highly respected Eighteenth Street Lounge Music label, operated by Washington DCs Thievery Corporation.

Meet Dave Wrangler ! ! !

ASCAP, Grammy, and Recording Academy artist Dave Wrangler is unsure if his passion for writing, producing and performing is a gift or a curse. Dave’s intuitive musical vision is difficult for some understand as he thrives on chaos and diversity-leaving some to scratch their heads. Dave has always been perplexed at how many DJs rule out great music because it doesn’t fall into their preferred genre. While becoming guilty of this himself for a short period of time as a house DJ, he is ecstatic to be doing things his way. In his opinion, there is a common element amongst everything organic, including music. When questioned about his change in direction, Dave says, “I always felt an element of guilt, as well as the feeling that I was depriving myself and the audience when I was not performing in my own style. I absolutely love many different types of music, all types-how can any self-proclaimed aficionado not? I feel that part of maturing as a person AND an artist is doing what it is you feel you can do honestly, efficiently and tastefully. I don’t want to ever limit myself to anything, within reason-no matter what it is. There is so much the universe has to offer, we simply need to be cognizant of when and how it speaks to us.”

As one of the busiest and most versatile DJ’s in his current home of Houston, TX, he is becoming one of the most acclaimed new producers/remixers on the blogosphere. Dave’s tracks, remixes and DJ sets have been featured with the likes of underground and mainstream powerhouses: Soulwax, Diplo, Justice, CSS, Peaches, Portishead, M.I.A. and Santogold on many of the most championed blogs around. A handful of Dave’s remixes have been downloaded over one thousand times! The “flower of life” the geometrical symbol which he holds very sacred, means “the eye of God, seeing in all directions at the same time.” It is this meaning that he channels in personal philosophy and his musical message-blending elements of hip-hop, electronica, indie, dance, and metal.

Dave believes that collage exists as the ultimate art form-well, his preferred artform; which his music and mixes can attest to. He has been an avid user of Ableton Live for the past 5 years and considers himself to be a master of it’s production/remixing features. While Dave spends innumerable hours remixing party tracks for his own DJ use, he is concentrating heavily on his first full length album, with all instrumentation and vocals written, arranged and performed himself.

Bonus Tracks:
Mindless Self Indulgence - Faggot (Dave Wrangler's On The DL re-edit)
GROOVE IS IN THE HEART- DAVE WRANGLER'S WHITE ROOM REMIX 2008

THE PRESETS - VIRAL VIDEO FOR “ARE YOU THE ONE (LIFELIKE'S 1 SERIOUS REMIX)

A technicoloured trip through crystal cities and swirling universes, this new video for The Presets is a snapshot straight from the mind’s eye of some of Australia’s premiere creative gurus. BMW + Modular approached Jonathan Zawada and Shane Sakkeus (alongside the production brainiacs at Collider) to create a new video algorithm to solve the age old problem "what do you get when you cross Presets + BMW + LifeLike + Zawada + Sakkeus + Collider? The answer; a joy ride of the imagination that results in pure optical bliss. Traversing through parallel worlds of rainbow moon rocks, pyramids, and cosmic clouds, THE ONE(s) navigates the heavens and the earths alike. Ecstasy to the eye. Drink it in people.

"HEARTS ON FIRE" MIDNIGHT JUGGERNAUTS REMIX

With the stardust having barely settled following the release of Cut Copy's number one sophomore album In Ghost Colours and having dazzled audiences with their appearance at the recent Coachella Festival, the boys are back bringing new life to their 07 hit Hearts On Fire. This time blazed out in its new album version glory, the official release of Hearts On Fire is being elevated into the planet Jugular with a touch-up from everyone’s favourite neo-disco astronauts The Midnight Juggernauts, who drape the original in atmospheric organ sweeps, glittering arena echoes and dulcet vocal harmonies transforming it into an intense trip through the universe.

Meet Dani Deahl ! ! !

from her space
Dani Deahl: The Tastemaker
In an industry where women are still the minority, Chicago's Dani Deahl aspires to be an innovator and leader. With a signature style mixing hard-hitting electro with "blog-house," Dani has laid a foundation as a respected worldwide performer with an ever-growing catalogue of original production. While many would stop there, Dani believes that her influence only starts behind the decks. Her resume boasts a continual inventory of side projects in print, radio, television and the studio - a testament to her commitment in redefining the female DJ role within the male dominated industry. When beginning her career seven years ago, Dani made it a point to not only exercise polished technical skills, but also extreme determination (a tactic that quickly grabbed notice). Soon after turning professional at the age of eighteen, the budding novice found herself attending high school during the day and working three to five nights a week at Chicago's busiest clubs all while hosting her own live mix show on Chicago's Energy 92.7/5 FM. Local success became a catapult for international travel as Dani began headlining in front of thousands in locales from Hong Kong to the Cayman Islands. The performances brought features in global magazines like URB, the Chicago Tribune, Mexico's DJ Concept and Asia's BC. With her momentum continually accelerating, Dani decided to then branch out, putting her industry involvement to use in everything from TV to print. Most recently Dani has been churning out tracks on labels like Detour and Hot Sauce Recordings and has been writing for top industry publications/blogs like URB, BPM, Time Out and Kissatlanta.com as well as her own blog, d squared. She is also on the verge of launching her own label in conjunction with famed label Strictly Rhythm (more details to be released in coming weeks). Her consistent industry involvement and sense of musical projection (exercised not only in sets, but in writing and artist scouting for her label) has earned her the nickname of “the tastemaker,” a title that sets her apart from other female DJs. "It's important for me," says Dani, "to not only continue to evolve musically, but to also be a contributor within the electronic music industry; as I stay involved through DJing, production, music journalism and more, I know I'm doing my job.”

Now as a fact of the words up there her new mix sent by her so u can know her and bang your head with her music!
